To support Taiwanese digital service and solution providers in exploring markets in the New Southbound countries, the Administration for Digital Industries (ADI) under the Ministry of Digital Affairs (MODA) led a delegation of eight Taiwanese digital technology companies, together with the Institute for Information Industry (III), to Malaysia from September 18 to 21. During this period, the delegation organized “Taiwan Digital Day” in conjunction with the Smart Nation Expo, Malaysia’s largest national technology event. The initiative aimed to promote Taiwan’s digital brands, understand Malaysia’s current digitalization progress and potential market demand, and create future business opportunities.
The Smart Nation Expo is Malaysia’s largest 5G + AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) technology exhibition, showcasing 5G, IoT, big data analytics, emerging technologies, and smart city development plans. Its applications span across construction, transportation, tourism, education, manufacturing, energy, finance, and healthcare. The event also features multiple forums and seminars, making it one of the most influential technology exhibitions for emerging industry collaboration. It attracts leading international enterprises and tens of thousands of buyers, echoing Malaysia’s “Shared Prosperity Vision 2030” initiative that promotes digital transformation and Industry 4.0.
To deepen Taiwan–Malaysia industry exchanges, the delegation held “Taiwan Digital Day” today (September 20) in Kuala Lumpur. The event featured eight Taiwanese companies — FETC International, Everbiz Industrial, AcBel Polytech, HWACOM SYSTEMS INC, TURN CLOUD, JGB Smart Property, Lydsec, and Wave-In Communication — engaging with over ten Malaysian enterprises and business associations. These companies represented sectors including system integration, smart retail, smart property management, and smart business solutions.
The Administration for Digital Industries (ADI) stated that Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), PIKOM (National Tech Association of Malaysia), and Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) have long supported and collaborated closely with Taiwan’s digital and technology industries. With a strong foundation of mutual understanding and industrial cooperation, both sides are expected to further promote Taiwan’s high-quality smart services and applications, driving digital upgrading and sustainable development across industries.
Digital technology plays a crucial role as a driving force for innovation and as a key enabler for achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs). Taiwan boasts many outstanding digital technology solutions, such as:
• Glory Technology's rail communication system, which has brought MIT (Made in Taiwan) solutions to Thailand and the Philippines.
• e-Formula Technologies' smart energy-saving solution, jointly implemented by Taiwanese and Japanese companies in Bohol, Philippines.
• FETC International’s integrated ETC and ePayment solutions successfully launched on Thailand’s M6 and M81 expressways.
Additionally, Taiwan’s “Cloud Marketplace” has helped over 44,000 enterprises migrate to the cloud. Many of its showcased solutions have been successfully piloted in Taiwan, providing a strong foundation for expanding Taiwan’s digital strengths into overseas markets.
The Administration for Digital Industries will continue supporting collaboration between Taiwanese and Malaysian companies, sharing Taiwan’s smart solutions to foster more opportunities for bilateral industrial exchange and business development. Through deeper Taiwan–Malaysia cooperation, both sides aim to achieve mutual prosperity and a win-win future in the digital economy.
